What is happening?

STEVENAGE BOROUGH COUNCIL

THE BOROUGH OF STEVENAGE (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED WEST OF STEVENAGE TRAIN STATION, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Stevenage Borough Council, acting as agents for the Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated west of Stevenage Train Station from its junction with Argyle Way south–eastwards to the entrance of Stevenage Train Station (“the Footpath”), whilst works are in progress.

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of Argyle Way – the footway situated on the east side of Argyle Way – the cycle track/footway situated on the south of Fairlands Way and the cycle track/footway situated on the west side of Lytton Way.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

A copy of the proposed Order may be inspected free of charge during normal opening hours at the Council’s offices in Daneshill House.
