A23 TRUNK ROAD (HICKLESTEAD TO MUDDLESWOOD LAY-BYS AND BUS STOPS) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the A23 Trunk Road in the County of West Sussex, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the 24-hour closure of all lay-bys and bus stops adjacent to both carriageways of the A23 between the tip of the nosing of the exit slip road at Hicklestead Interchange (A2300) and the tip of the nosing of the Muddleswood Interchange (B2117).

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake carriageway repairs and lay-by rejuvenations and all associated works.

It is expected that the work would last for approximately 2 months starting at 12:00 on or after Wednesday 3rd September 2025.

The Order would come into force on the 1st September 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.

The temporary closures would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
