Cumberland - Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL

(U2498 ELTERWATER AVENUE, WORKINGTON

AND BACK LANE OF SENHOUSE STREET, MARYPORT)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. U2498 Elterwater Avenue, Workington, from its junction with Woodside, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 30m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Elterwater Avenue, Loweswater Avenue, Newlands Lane, Eskdale Crescent and Woodside.

Duration: From 1 September 2025 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROC/15427)

2. The back lane, of Senhouse Street, Maryport, extending for 10 metres along the back of Nos. 91 to 105 Senhouse Street There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. Duration: From 1 September 2025 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROC/15438)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 1 September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
