What is happening?

THE KINGSTON UPON HULL CITY COUNCIL

ALFRED GELDER STREET BUS GATE 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council by virtue of S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an Order. 

The effect of the Order is to temporarily extend the existing bus gate from Carr Lane onto Alfred Gelder Street, from Vernon Street to Guildhall Way. 

This is to enable public transport better facilitated passage around the city centre, whilst the strengthening and repair works are being carried out on Drypool Bridge. 

The road will remain open to statutory undertakers, buses, taxis, motorcycles and other authorised vehicles as per the existing bus gate. 

Access will be maintained for emergency services. 

The Order will take effect on 1st September 2025 and may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. 

The bus gate will operate daily between 12am and 3.30pm commencing 1st September 2025 until 5th December 2025.
