Thane Road - Public Transport Improvements And Provision Of Traffic Calming
What is happening?
PUBLIC TRANSPORT IMPROVEMENTS AND PROVISION OF TRAFFIC CALMING THANE ROAD, BEESTON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN tthat the Nottinghamshire County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 90A - 90I of the Highways Act 1980 (traffic calming hump), proposes to install one raised traffic calming plateau and three pairs of speed cushions on Thane Road, Beeston in the Borough of Broxtowe:
The extents of the plateaus and speed cushions are detailed below:
THANE ROAD, BEESTON
•Approximately 500 metres south-east of the Lilac GroveThane Road roundabout. •Approximately 608 metres south-east then north-east of the Lilac Grove-Thane Road roundabout.
•Approximately 664 metres south-east then north-east of the Lilac Grove-Thane Road roundabout.
•Approximately 769 metres south-east then north-east of the Lilac Grove-Thane Road roundabout.
In addition to the above, as part of Nottinghamshire County Council’s on-going commitment to improve public transport in the County, we are making it easier for buses to stop in Beeston and are proposing that the locations below are now being formalised as enforceable marked bus stop clearways.
The clearways will prohibit all vehicles except buses from parking or waiting At Any Time in the bus stop areas and will be clearly identified with new road markings and signage. As a result, the bus stops will be accessible for buses serving that stop during these times.
The work proposed will, in summary, consist of:
Thane Road, Beeston - 2 x 19 metre Bus Stop Clearways: No stopping except buses.
Any objections to the proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, should be sent in writing before the 15th September 2025 using the e-mail or postal address at the bottom of the letter.
