What is happening?

THE HIGHLAND COUNCIL (A939 THE SQUARE (INCLUDING PARTS OF U2821 SEAFIELD AVENUE AND U2791 FOREST ROAD), GRANTOWN-ON-SPEY, HIGHLAND – RESURFACING WORKS) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025

Notice is hereby given that on 13 August 2025 The Highland Council made an Order in terms of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and titled as above. The Order has been made to allow Highland Council contractors to safely undertake resurfacing works. This Order shall be in operation each day from Monday 1 September 2025 until Friday 12 September 2025. During these periods the use by vehicles on the length of road specified in the schedule hereto except for use by Emergency Services is prohibited.

A copy of the Order can be viewed at the Grantown-on-Spey Service Point, The Town House, The Square, Grantown-on-Spey PH26 3HF, 10am to 1pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

SCHEDULE

This is the schedule referred to in the foregoing Notice entitled ‘‘The Highland Council (A939 The Square (Including Parts of U2821 Seafield Avenue and U2791 Forest Road, Grantown-on-Spey, Highland – Resurfacing Works) (Temporary Closure) Notice 2025’

Roads Affected:
This closure will be conducted in 3 stages; the roads not being worked on at any given time will be open to traffic as usual.

A939 The Square, Grantown-on-Spey: Commencing 20 meters or thereby south of its junction with Seafield Avenue and Forest Road and extending for 125 metres or thereby in a north-easterly direction, including both roadways on either side.
U2821 Seafield Avenue, Grantown-on-Spey: Commencing at its junction with the A939 and extending for 123 metres or thereby in a north-westerly direction.
U2791 Forest Road, Grantown-on-Spey: Commencing at its junction with the A939 and extending for 125 metres or thereby in a south-easterly direction.

Traffic management with signed diversions will be in place. Emergency access will be maintained.
