Cotgrave Lane And Cotgrave Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving For Gas Mains Replacement Works

What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(COTGRAVE LANE AND COTGRAVE ROAD, TOLLERTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025 (R25-176)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Tollerton in the Borough of Rushcliffe

The effects of the Order will be:

1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road

a. Cotgrave Lane, Tollerton - From its junction with Cotgrave Road to its junction with Tollerton Lane.

2. No vehicle shall proceed at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour in the following length of road:-

a. Cotgrave Road, Tollerton - From its junction with Gilliver Lane in a south westerly direction for 2000 metres

3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

Cotgrave Lane Road Closure
From 07:00 hours Tuesday 26th August until 18:00 hours Friday 3rd October 2025

Cotgrave Road Speed Restriction
From 07:00 hours Monday 15th September until 18:00 hours Friday 19th October 2025

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:

a. Melton Road - Tollerton Lane and vice versa

The Order will come into force on 26th August 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Cadent Gas to carry out gas mains replacement works;
