Al2 Trunk Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic For General Routine Maintenance
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14(1)(A) AND (7)
THE A12 TRUNK ROAD (JUNCTION 28 SEVERALLS INTERCHANGE, EXSSE)) EXIT SLIP ROADS
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 202_
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited(a) intends to make an Order on the Al 2 Trunk Road in the County of Essex to enable nearby third-party survey works and general routine maintenance to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place, in phases, over approximately 5 nights (Mon-Fri, 8pm to 5am) starting on, or after, Monday 8 September 2025.
The effect of the Order would be to close, at Al 2 Junction 28 Severalls Interchange, the exit slip roads leading from the -
• northbound carriageway - diverting traffic to continue northbound to J29, then return on the Al2 southbound to J28, and
• southbound carriageway - diverting traffic to continue southbound to J26, then return on the Al 2 northbound to J28 and continue their journey.
The closures (which would not apply to works, emergency service, or traffic officer vehicles) and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
The Order would come into force on 1 September 2025 and may continue in force until the works detailed above have been completed or for a maximum duration of eighteen months, whichever is the earlier.
