Lancaster Way & Stirling Way - Temporary Prohibited Because Works Are Being or Are Proposed to Be Carried Out on or Near the Footpath
What is happening?
STOCKTON-ON-TEES BOROUGH COUNCIL
LANCASTER WAY & STIRLING WAY, THORNABY TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 not less than seven days from the date hereof, the Highway Authority being satisfied that access to the said footpath should be prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be carried out on or near the footpath.
The effect of the Order, which will come into effect on 25th August 2025, will be to temporarily close the full lengths of the following footpaths: footpath link to the rear of 36 to 40 Lancaster Way, footpath link to the front of 42 to 52 Lancaster Way, footpath link to the rear of 26 to 112 Lancaster Way, footpath link to the rear of 116 to 132 Stirling Way and footpath link to the front of 164 to 180 Stirling Way.
The closures shall be at such times as traffic management signs may be erected to notify highway users of the closure.
It is expected that works will be carried out between 25th August and 13th October 2025.
The Order may continue in force for a maximum period of six months, unless extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
Alternative routes will be signed on site.
Access for emergency services will be maintained, pedestrian access will not be maintained.
