Kirkmanshulme Lane - Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic For Complete Gas Main Replacement Works

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
 TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary One Way Traffic Order:

ORDER NO. MCC144958818: The City of Manchester (Kirkmanshulme Lane, Longsight Ward) (Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Kirkmanshulme Lane One Way from the junction of Northmoor Road to the junction of Pottery Lane in that direction (permitted direction of travel). The alternative routes for traffic will be: Kirkmanshulme Lane, Stockport Road, Stanley Grove, Northmoor Road. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order to complete gas main replacement works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 18th August 2025 to 1st September 2025. The Order shall come into operation on 11th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. 

ORDER NO. MCC144945660: The City of Manchester (Moss Lane East & Moss Lane West, Moston Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Moss Lane East and Moss Lane West. The alternative routes for traffic will be: signed locally. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Resurfacing Works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 16th August 2025 to 31st August 2025. The order shall come into operation on 16th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
