What is happening?

DERBY CITY COUNCIL 

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 

Derby City Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit use of the roads by traffic. 

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER ON ALBERT STREET & VICTORIA STREET, DERBY 

WHEN: 18 August 2025 to 22 August 2025 (20:00 to 05:00 Daily – Overnight) 

WHERE: Albert Street, from its junction with Morledge and Tenant Street to its junction with Victoria Street, Cornmarket and St Peter’s Street, Victoria Street, from its junction with Albert Street, Cornmarket and St Peter’s Street to its junction with The Strand, St James Street and Wardwick. 

REASON: Construction and Planter work 

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Wardwick – Cheapside – Bold Lane – Jury Street – Walker Lane – Cathedral Road – Full Street – Corporation Street And Corporation Street – Derwent Street – Exeter Bridge – Derwent Street – St Alkmund’s Way – Ford Street – Stafford Street – Uttoxeter New Road Roundabout – Curzon Street – Cheapside – The Strand
