White Hill Road, Overton, Basingstoke - Temporary Road Closure due to bridge inspection
What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council intends to make an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: that part of White Hill Road between two points approx. 20m either side of the railway bridge known as ‘Overton Road (Scrubs Bridge), approx. 1186m north of the A303.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: A303, A34, Paper Mill Lane, Winchester Road, Test Road, B3400, Woodlands, Red Lion Lane, Sapley Lane, Sapley, Lower Whitehill.
DURATION OF ORDER: from 2nd September 2025 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 1 night, working between the hours 22:00-06:00).
The road closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for Xeiad to carry out bridge inspection works. If there are any queries or enquires regarding this Order, please contact: bonnie.kelly@gtm.co.uk Xeiad will provide reasonable facilities to allow access to adjacent premises and provide notice to those directly affected while the work is being carried out.
