Battenburg Avenue - Temporary Road Closure And Prohibition Of Loading And Waiting
What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (London Road) (Temporary Road Closure) (Temporary
Prohibition of Loading and Waiting) (No.142) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 1st September 2025 and the effect will be as follows:
A) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
BATTENBURG AVENUE
TORRINGTON ROAD
From its junction with London Road for 20 metres.
From its junction with London Road for 20
metres.
B) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF LOADING AND WAITING
LONDON ROAD
From its junction with Battenburg Avenue
to its junction with Torrington Road.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate gas works.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 1st September 2025 to 31st October 2025 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from London Road, Merrivale Road, Windermere Road, Torrington Road and London Road, St Chads Avenue, Randolph Road, Battenburg Avenue.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
Cycles to follow vehicle diversion or dismount and follow pedestrian diversion around the
works.
