ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (A2021 Whitley Road, Eastbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Whitley Road – from the junction with U2169 St Philips Avenue to the junction with U2170 Annington Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2021 Whitley Road, Bedfordwell Road, Lewes Road, Prideaux Road, Kings Drive, Rodmill roundabout – A2280 Cross Levels Way, Upperton Farm roundabout, Cross Levels Way, Broadwater roundabout, Cross Levels Way – A22 Lottbridge roundabout – A2290 Lottbridge Drove, Birch roundabout, Lottbridge Drove – A259 Seaside roundabout, Seaside and vice versa.
The Order commences 31 August 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 31 August 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Wallsend Road – from the junction with A259 Eastbourne Road to the junction with A259 Bexhill Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic northbound via A259 Wallsend Road, Bexhill Road – A27 Pevensey Haven roundabout, Pevensey bypass, Dittons Road roundabout North – A22 Golden Jubilee Way, Dittons Road roundabout South, Golden Jubilee Way, Shinewater roundabout, Highfield Link, Lottbridge roundabout – A2290 Lottbridge Drove, Birch roundabout, Lottbridge Drove – A259 Seaside roundabout, Seaside, St Anthony’s Avenue, Langney roundabout, Pevensey Bay Road, Crumbles roundabout, Pevensey Bay Road, Martello roundabout, Pevensey Bay Road, Eastbourne Road, Richmond Road and southbound via A259 Wallsend Road, Eastbourne Road, Pevensey Bay Road, Martello roundabout, Pevensey Bay Road, Crumbles roundabout, Pevensey Bay Road, Langney roundabout, St Anthony’s Avenue, Seaside, Seaside roundabout – A2290 Lottbridge Drove, Birch roundabout, Lottbridge Drove – A22 Lottbridge roundabout, Highfield Link, Shinewater roundabout, Golden Jubilee Way, Dittons Road roundabout South, Golden Jubilee Way – A27 Dittons Road roundabout North, Pevensey bypass, Pevensey Haven roundabout – A259 Bexhill Road.
