What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE SERVICE ROAD FRONTING NOS.19-28 CRANBORNE PARADE, POTTERS BAR) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the service road fronting Nos.19-28 Cranborne Parade, Potters Bar from its junction with Mimmms Hall Road north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with B556 Mutton Lane, a distance of approximately 103m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Mimmms Hall Road, Deepdene, Wetherden Gardens and B556 Mutton Lane.

The Order is needed because of water service connection works to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN WOOLMER GREEN, DATCHWORTH, HATFIELD, NORTH MYMMS, SOUTH MYMMS, WHEATHAMPSTEAD, AYOT ST LAWRENCE AND WELWYN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

  1. that length of Mardleybury Road, Woolmer Green/Datchworth and Datchworth Green, Datchworth from its junction with B197 London Road south eastwards, eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Rectory Lane, a distance of approximately 1154m.

    An alternative route will be via B197 (London Road/Stevenage Road/London Road/ Monkswood Way), A602 (Broadhall Way/Hooks Cross), High Street, Station Road, Watton Road and Datchworth Green.

  2. that length of Station Road, Hatfield from its junction with Dixons Hill Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 1088m.

    An alternative route will be via Dixons Hill Road, Swanland Road, Hawkshead Lane, Bluebridge Road, Bradmore Green and Station Road.

  3. that length of Warrengate Road, North Mymms/South Mymms from its northernmost junction with Swanland Road south southwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 1397m.

    An alternative route will be via Swanland Road.

  4. that length of Codicote Road, Wheathampstead/Ayot St Lawrence from its intersection junction with Bride Hall Lane north eastwards to its junction with Hill Farm Road, a distance of approximately 2827m.

    An alternative route will be via Codicote Road, B653 Codicote Road, B651 Lamer Lane, Lamer Road, B651 Ballslough Hill, Kimpton Road (East), Kimpton Road, High Street, Codicote Street and St Albans Road.

  5. that length of Pennyfathers Lane, Welwyn from its junction with Harmer Green Lane south eastwards to its junction with Welwyn Public Bridleway No.036, a distance of approximately 321m.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    The Order is needed because water service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

    If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON A414 HERTFORD ROAD, HATFIELD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the eastbound carriageway of A414 Hertford Road, Hatfield from A414 Great North Road roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 636m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via A414 Great North Road, A6129 (Stanborough Road/ Bessemer Road), A1000 Chequers and A414 Hertford Road.

ADDITIONALLY, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of the length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because water works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B156 NORTHAW ROAD WEST, NORTHAW) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B156 Northaw Road West, Northaw from its junction with Park Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 251m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B156 Northaw Road West, Cattlegate Road, Judges Hill Road and B156 (Coopers Lane/Judges Hill/Northaw Road West).

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 31 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

  1. that length of Hertford Road, Hatfield from its junction with the roundabout leading to A1000 Hertford Road and A414 Great North Road eastwards to its junction with A1000 Hertford Road, a distance of approximately 175m.

    An alternative route will be via A414 (Hertford Road/Mount Pleasant Lane), the A414 Great North Road/Odings Corner roundabout, A414 Hertford Road and A1000 Hertford Road.

  2. the A414 westbound slip road leading onto A414 Hertford Road, Hatfield from the roundabout on A1000 Hertford Road north westwards to its junction with A414 Hertford Road, a distance of approximately 370m.

    An alternative route will be via A1000 Hertford Road and A414 Hertford Road.

  3. the A414 eastbound slip road leading onto A1000 Chequers, Hatfield from its junction with the eastbound carriageway of A414 Hertford Road south eastwards, eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with A1000 Chequers, a distance of approximately 291m.

    An alternative route will be via A414 Hertford Road and A1000 Hertford Road.

  4. the eastbound slip road leading off A414 Hertford Road, Hatfield from a point 97m south west of its junction with A1000 Chequers south southwards and south eastwards to its junction with the eastbound carriageway of A414 Hertford Road, a distance of approximately 184m.

    An alternative route will be via A414 (Hertford Road/Mount Pleasant Lane), the A414 Great North Road/Odings Corner roundabout, A414 Hertford Road and A1000 Hertford Road.

    The Order is needed because water works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

    The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN DIGSWELL, DIGSWELL, CHESTNUT, NEWGATE STREET AND WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-

  1. that length of Harmer Green Lane, Digswell from its southernmost junction with New Road north westwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its northernmost junction with New Road, a distance of approximately 1398m.

    An alternative route will be via New Road,

  2. that length of Darnicle Hill, Chestnut/Newgate Street, Newgate Street from its junction with Newgatestreet Road north westwards, south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Newgatestreet Village, a distance of approximately 1455m.

    An alternative route will be via Hammondstreet Road, Dig Dag Hill, Longfield Lane, B156 (Plashnet Road/Churchgate Road/Goffs Lane/Cuffley Hill/Station Road), B157 (Plough Hill/Ridgeway/The Ridgeway), Carbone Hill and Newgatestreet Village.

  3. that length of Springfields, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Stanborough Green north westwards to its junction with Handside Lane, a distance of approximately 465m.

    An alternative route will be via Stanborough Green, Lemsford Lane and Handside Lane.

  4. that length of Little Youngs, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Handside Lane north westwards for its entire length.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    The Order is needed because water service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

    The Order has been made and shall come into force on 29 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED BENEATH DIGSWELL ROAD, WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated beneath Digswell Road, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Haymeads north westwards for a distance of approximately 114m ("the Footpath").

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north and north west side of Haymeads, the footway situated on the north east side of Harwood Hill, the footway situated on the east and west sides of Digswell Road, the footway situated on the north side of Reddings, the footway situated on the east side of Niges and the footpath situated beneath Digswell Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.
