York, Temporary Road Closures Due To Carriageway & Footpath Construction Works

NOTICE OF INTENTION

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION

CINDER STREET, LEEMAN ROAD & STATION RISE, YORK

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 prohibiting vehicles from proceeding, parking & waiting in that length of road on (i) Cinder Street, York between its junction with Leeman Road and the eastern kerbline for the York Train Station Car Park Access road, (ii) Leeman Road, York between its junction with Cinder Street and a point 60 metres east of the projected eastern boundary line of Marble Arch Bridge (closed road) and (iii) the north bound traffic lane of Station Rise between its junctions with Station Road and Leeman Road (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 2330hrs on Saturday, 23 August 2025 and ending at 0530hrs on Monday, 15 September 2025 (works period) or on a date when Carriageway and footpath construction works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.

It is envisaged that the closed road and closed traffic lane will only be put into effect during the following dates and time:

    • From 2330hrs on Saturday 23 August till 0530hrs on Tuesday 26 August 2025,

    • From 1930hrs on Friday 29 August till 0530hrs on Monday 1 September 2025,

    • From 1930hrs on Friday 5 September till 0530hrs on Monday 8 September 2025,

  • From 1930hrs on Friday 12 September till 0530hrs on Monday 15 September 2025.

An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibition.

The Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will it prohibit access to premises provided such access is not prevented by ongoing works.
