NOTICE OF PROPOSALS
THE YORK PARKING, STOPPING AND WAITING (AMENDMENT) (NO 14/66) TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 53 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, proposes to make an Order which will have the effect of:
Introducing ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions in Front Street, York, on its south east side between points 10 metres and 17 metres (terminal point of existing ‘No Waiting at any time restrictions) south west from the projected south western property boundary line of No 50 Front Street.
Introducing a 24-hour Disabled Person’s (Blue Badge) parking place in York, as follows:
a) Union Terrace, on its north west side between points 2 metres north east of the projected south western property boundary line of No. 93 Union Terrace and a point 80 metres south west from the said line.
b) Duncombe Square, on its north side, between a points 10 metres and 29.8 metres east from the projected kerbline of Burton Stone Lane.
Re-defining the boundary of Zone R44 (UNION TERRACE) Residents’ Priority Parking Area to exclude that area within the property boundary of 77-79 Clarence Street thereby removing that area from within the Zone.
Introducing “School?Keep?Clear” prohibition in Station Road (C92), Haxby, on its south side, between points 32 metres and 45 metres (terminal point of existing “School?Keep?Clear” markings) east from the projected centreline of Hall Rise, so that the prohibition applies between 8.30am to 9.30am and 3.00pm to 4.00pm Monday – Friday within the school term time.
Introducing “Restricted Parking Zone” in Duncombe Square, York with ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions.
Restricting lengths of Duncombe Square, York with the exception of the length of highway stated in paragraph 2.b) within the proposed “Restricted Parking Zone” at paragraph 5 as ‘No Waiting at any time’ restrictions the said lengths being identifiable by the placement of upright traffic signs at the zone entry and repeater signs along the lengths of restricted roads (as opposed to the placement of road markings adjacent to the kerb).
A copy of the draft Order, Statement of Reasons for making it and relevant maps can be inspected at the Reception, West Offices, Station Rise, York, during normal business hours. Objections or other representations specifying reasons for the objection or representation should be sent to me in writing to arrive no later than 5?? September 2025.
