Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
South Stoke, South Bank
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 11 August 2025
Coming into force: 19 August 2025
This Order is being introduced because of excavation for fibre cabling works which are anticipated to take 10 days to complete.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in the section of South Bank between the side of 10 Glebe Cottages and 1 South Bank. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Traffic will be diverted via the B4009 – Ferry Road – The Street – South Bank and vice versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15561/MR)

Longworth, Pinewoods Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting
Date of Order: 11 August 2025
Coming into force: 20 August 2025
This Order is being introduced because of road resurfacing works which are anticipated to be completed 28 August 2025. This will operate between 19:30 and 06:00hrs.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in Pinewoods Road between the junction with A420 and junction with Hinton Road.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Hinton Road, Appleton Road, A414, A420 and vice versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16050/AC)

Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting
Date of Order: 11 August 2025
Coming into force: 20 August 2025
This Order is being introduced because of resurfacing works which are anticipated to be completed 28 August 2025. Works will operate between 19:30 and 06:00hrs daily.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in Charney Road between the A420 and Spring Hill. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Spring Hill, Faringdon Road, A415, A420 and vice versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16049/AC)

Kennington and Sunningwell, Foxcombe Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 1 September 2025
Coming into force: 9 September 2025
This Order is being introduced because of gas works which are anticipated to be completed 19 December 2025. This is a 24 hour road closure.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the whole length of Foxcombe Road from the junction with Fox Lane to Hinksey Hill. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for police, emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
The alternative route for traffic is via Hinksey Hill – Southern By Pass (A34) – A420 – B4017 – Lamborough Hill – Fox Lane – Foxcombe Road and vice versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T15990/AC)

Blewbury, Bohams Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 11 August 2025
Coming into force: 11 August 2025
This Order is being introduced because of civils & excavation works which are anticipated to be completed 01 September 2025. This will operate between 09:30 and 15:30hrs.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of Bohams Road from the A417 London Road for 1280 metres south-westwards. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. There is no diversion route but residents’ access will be maintained.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16209/AC)

Notice of Temporary 10 mph Speed Limit Order
Southmoor and various parishes, A420
Date of Order: 11 August 2025
Coming into force: 20 August 2025
This Order is being introduced to facilitate acts of convoy working during road improvements which are anticipated to be completed 25 August 2025. Convoy working will operate between 19:30 and 06:00hrs. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in excess of 10 mph from the junction with the A415 to junction with B4508 (Upper Bourton).
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
The relevant part of the A420 Trunk Road (Watchfield to Little Coxwell and Littleworth to Longworth) (50 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 1993 will be suspended for the duration of hours of the works in respect of the current 50mph speed limit. (Ref: T16048/AC)
