What is happening?

Ipswich Borough Council (Suffolk County Council (Borough Of Ipswich) (Stopping, Waiting And Loading Prohibitions And Restrictions And On-Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2019) On-Street Parking Places (Tariffs) Order 2025
Ipswich Borough Council ("the Council") under Sections 1, 2, 4, 45 and 46 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order, which will be to amend Schedule 1 of the Suffolk County Council (Borough of Ipswich) (Stopping, Waiting and Loading Prohibitions and Restrictions and On-Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2019, as amended, to set the tariffs, classes of vehicle, charges and maximum stay for a number of on-street public paid for parking places within the Borough of Ipswich (some exemptions will apply for holders of a disabled person’s blue badge), with effect from 10th November 2025.
The tariffs, class of vehicle, charging hours and maximum stay at other existing on-street public paid for designated parking places within the Borough of Ipswich, as already listed in the schedule of the above Order, remain unchanged.

Charges apply from 08:00 to 22:00 daily.

  • Constantine Road, Friars Bridge Road, Lower Brook Street, New Cardinal Street, Russell Road and Sir Alf Ramsey Way
  • Up to 30 minutes = £1.30
    Up to 1 hour = £2.50
    Up to 2 hours = £4.20
    Up to 3 hours = £5.90

Maximum stay = 3 hours during permitted hours – no return within 1 hour.
Class of vehicle = up to 3500kg GVW.
A copy of the proposed Order and other applicable documents can be viewed on the Council’s website at: www.ipswich.gov.uk/currentconsultations, or they may be viewed free of charge at the Council’s offices at Grafton House, 15–17 Russell Road, Ipswich, IP1 2DE, between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
If you wish to object or make other representations about the proposed Order these must be made in writing to the address below not later than 13th September 2025. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Please note that any objection or representation may be published as part of any report into the proposed Order and if so will be publicly available to view.
