What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U4367 FOXHOUSES ROAD, BLENG AVENUE AND MEADOW ROAD, WHITEHAVEN) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U4367 Foxhouses Road, Whitehaven, from a point adjacent to No.19 Foxhouses Road, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 70m.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles is available via the unrestricted section of Foxhouses Road, the A595, Meadow Road, Whinlatter Road and Bleng Avenue.
To facilitate the alternative route detailed above and allow two way traffic flow, the existing one-way restrictions on the following sections of road will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the Works;
(i) Foxhouses Road, Whitehaven from its junction with Inkerman Terrace extending in a south easterly direction for 200m; and
(ii) Bleng Avenue, Whitehaven from its junction with Foxhouses Road to its junction with Esk Avenue; and
(iii) Meadow Road, Whitehaven from its northern junction with Whinlatter Road, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 60m.
