Shropshire - Various Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S –

PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING

NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below. 
The Order/s came into force on 18th August 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative for the duration as stated below.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using School Bank, Wood Lane, Chester Road and Newport Road, Hinstock
Date & Duration: 18th August 2025 for 12 days between 09:30 to 16:00 weekdays and 08:00 to 17:00 weekends
Purpose: A529 Safer Road scheme.
Alternative Route : A529, A53, A41

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Abingdon Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 21st August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, replace defective manhole frame and cover.
Alternative Route : Abingdon Road, Conway Drive

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Aston Road, Barkers Green, Wem
Date & Duration: 18th August 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Reinstatement to damaged area.
Alternative Route : B5063, A49, Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road North West

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4385 between Brompton and Montgomery
Date & Duration: 19th August 2025 between 09:00 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-Tree trimming - No excavation
Alternative Route : A489, A490, B4386, B4385

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4580, Rhydcroseau
Date & Duration: 19th August 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure - Small PRV Renew 50mm
Alternative Route : B4580, Church Street, Upper Brook Street, Trefonen Road, Unnamed road West through Croesau Bach, B4580

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Caynham Road, Caynham
Date & Duration: 21st August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn - Renew pole
Alternative Route : Caynham road, A4117, A49, Caynham road

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Glyn Road, B4579, Selattyn
Date & Duration: 20th August 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Replacing the electricity poles.
Alternative Route : B4579, B4500, A5, B5069, B4579

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hucklemarsh Road, Ludlow
Date & Duration: 21st August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water - Replace defective cover and frame
Alternative Route : Hucklemarsh Road, Lacy Road

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Merry Lane, Yorton
Date & Duration: 18th August 2025 for 89 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Pre and Post Rail Bridge survey, along with installation of a new large diameter watermain with strategic fittings.
Alternative Route : Sansaw Road, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road West, Unnamed road North

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Nantmawr Bank, Nantmawr Bank
Date & Duration: 18th August 2025 between 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Engineers to access existing utility infrastructure to install fibre cable for customer connection
Alternative Route : Blodwel Bank, A495. B4396, Unnamed road North East

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road North of Longslow, Longford
Date & Duration: 18th August 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure to enable drainage investigations and repair
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West, Unnamed road North

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using St Marys Lane, Ludlow
Date & Duration: 21st August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Replace manhole frame and cover
Alternative Route : Corve Street, St Marys Lane

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Station Road, Llanymynech
Date & Duration: 18th August 2025 for 8 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Civils deep excavation to repair waste water pipework.
Alternative Route : A483, B4396, B4398

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Station Road, Selattyn
Date & Duration: 21st August 2025 for 7 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Erecting new 11KV poles either side of the road, dismounting 11kv poles.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North East, Unnamed road South, Unnamed road West, B4579

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Station Road, Weston Rhyn
Date & Duration: 24th August 2025 from 00:05 to 09:30 25th August 2025
Purpose: Road Closure - Level Crossing Investigation Works overnight
Alternative Route : Old Chirk road, A5

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between B4364 and Hopton Cangeford
Date & Duration: 19th August 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Remedial reinstatement
Alternative Route : B4364, Unnamed road North, Unnamed road South West through Hopton Cangeford and continuing to Middleton

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road through Breaden Heath
Date & Duration: 18th August 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Erecting new poles either side of road.
Alternative Route : A495, New Road, Striga Lane, A539, Sandy Lane, Tarts Hill

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Cheswardine
Date & Duration: 19th August 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Remove patches and relay to correct spec.
Alternative Route : Haywood Lane, A529, Unnamed road North East

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Kinnerley
Date & Duration: 20th August 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Boundary Box Install
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North, Mountside, Unnamed road South East and South, Unnamed road North West

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between North Sutton and Haytons Bent
Date & Duration: 21st August 2025 between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-Tree trimming. - No excavation.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road East towards Hayton Bent, Unnamed road North East through Clee St Margaret, Unnamed road West through Bouldon and Peaton, Unnamed
road South West

Description of restriction: The No Entry at the junction of Postern Gate and High Street,
Bridgnorth will be suspended to allow access to Cartway
Date & Duration: 24th August 2025 between 06:00 to 20:00
Purpose: The Bridgnorth Music and Arts Festival for safety
Alternative Route : Not applicable
