What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC144678760: The City of Manchester (Quay Street & Byrom Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic, One-Way Traffic & No Waiting No Loading) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Quay Street from Little Quay Street to Gartside & on Byrom Street from Quay Street to Hardman Street.
The alternative routes for traffic will be: Gartside Street, Bridge Street, Deansgate.
The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate the PFA Awards 2025.
It is expected that the works will be in progress from 18th August 2025 to 20th August 2025 between the hours of 12:00 and 03:00.
The order shall come into operation on 18th August 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
