TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S - PUBLIC

NOTICES OF INTENTION

NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“the Council”) intend, not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of road/s as stated below. The Order/s for restriction is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exceptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
It is intended that the proposed restriction/s will come into force on the 25th August 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works which it is proposed to be carried out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is expected the Order will only be operative for the duration as stated in below.


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Astley Lane, Astley
Date & Duration: 25th August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, replace defective manhole frame and cover.
Alternative Route : A53, A49


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Bromley Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 26th August 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, provide a safe working area for engineers to excavate and lay new duct in carriageway and footway to provide new service
Alternative Route : Bromley Road, Coach Road, Gains Avenue


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Broomhall Lane, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 28th August 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Tree cutting works
Alternative Route : Trefonen Road, Back Racecourse Lane, Broomhall Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Lane, Albrighton
Date & Duration: 26th August 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Small PRV Renew, Meter renew, Rebuild Chamber and Washout install
Alternative Route : Holyhead Road, Church Lane


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Street, Bridgnorth
Date & Duration: 27th August 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-Remedial works
Alternative Route : High Street, Moat Street, St Leonards Close


Description of restriction: Pedestrians will be prohibited from using Footpaths Connecting Mary Elizabeth Road Steventon New Road and Temeside, Ludlow
Date & Duration: 26th August 2025 for 4 days between 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Footpath Closure between Mary Elizabeth Road, Sheet Road and Temeside, Ludlow
Alternative Route : Mary Elizabeth Road, Sheet Road, Steventon New Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Mount Way, Pontesbury
Date & Duration: 26th August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, replace defective manhole frame and cover.
Alternative Route : Mount Way, Brook Road


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Priory Drive, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 26th August 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Cadent Gas, main replacement works.
Alternative Route : Priory Drive, Priory Ridge


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Coed Y Go and Trefonen Road, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 25th August 2025 for 40 days
Purpose: Road Closure to enable a capital drainage highways scheme
Alternative Route : B5069, Trefonen Road, Unnamed road North East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Steel Heath
Date & Duration: 27th August 2025 for 3 days between 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Road closure to enable bridge parapet repairs
Alternative Route : A49, Whitchurch Road, Mill Street, Lighteach Road, B5476


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road, Bouldon
Date & Duration: 26th August 2025 for 25 days - weekdays only
Purpose: Road Closure to enable repairs to a retaining wall.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road South East towards Peaton


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using B4368, Monkhopton
Date & Duration: 27th August 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Remove trees from the bridge and complete bridge repairs.
Alternative Route : B4368, A458, Victoria Road, B4371, A49, B4368


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Fitz to Mytton
Date & Duration: 27th August 2025 for 13 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West, Unnamed road South West through Forton Heath


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Fron crossroads to Wern crossroads, Selattyn
Date & Duration: 26th August 2025 for 3 days between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Carriageway works
Alternative Route : Station Road, Unnamed road North West and West towards Rhos, Unnamed road South


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using A53, Shrewsbury Road, Shawbury
Date & Duration: 31st August 2025 for 1 day between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Excavate joint bays in verge and replacement of poles and overhead conductor.
Alternative Route : A53, A41, A49, A53


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between B4378 & Atterley
Date & Duration: 26th August 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road CLosure-Severn Trent Water-new water connection
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North, A458, B4378, Unnamed road South East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Valeswood Lane and Well Lane, Nesscliffe
Date & Duration: 28th August 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, boundary box install.
Alternative Route : Well Lane, Unnamed road North West, Gibraltar Lane, Innamed road South East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Wilcott and Kynaston, Wilcott
Date & Duration: 25th August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, renew frame and cover in carriageway.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road South West through Kynaston, Unnamed road North East towards Pentre, Unnamed road North East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road via Newtown, Wolverley
Date & Duration: 26th August 2025 for 6 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Excavate road crossing and lay ducting
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West, B5063, Unnamed road North East towards Newtown, Unnamed road North


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Newtown, Wem
Date & Duration: 27th August 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - New Water Connection
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, Unnamed road South East through Horton, B5063, Unnamed road North East


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Stanton upon Hine
Date & Duration: 26th August 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Replace pole
Alternative Route : B5063, A53, Unnamed road North West


Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Stanwardine at Jubilee Bridge
Date & Duration: 27th August 2025 for 10 days
Purpose: Road Closure to enable bridge repairs to Jubilee Bridge
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, B4397, Unnamed road North
