What is happening?

THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (STAGES MUSIC FESTIVAL) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 13th August 2025 it made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), and with the consent of the Secretary of State under 16B of that Act, in order to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, namely the Stages Music Festival (‘The Event’) which is to take place on 27th September 2025 and to enable the public to attend the Event. The Order shall come into force at 00:01am on Saturday 27th September 2025 and cease at 07:00am on 28th September 2025. The effect of the Order is to prohibit all vehicular traffic along and from waiting and loading or unloading at any time on or in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule. The Order will suspend for the duration of this Order the loading bay operating all day and all hours on Crowtree Road north side from a point 67.0 metres east of its intersection with the extended party property boundary of the eastern gable end of 9 High Street West, for a distance of 12.5 metres in an easterly direction. During the Event, diversions will be signposted via the adjacent highway network where applicable. The prohibitions shall apply at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. There will be exemptions in the Order for police, fire and rescue services and ambulance vehicles on emergency call and vehicles being used in connection with the Event. THE SCHEDULE St Marys Way, Paley Street, Eden Street West, Garrison Field Road, Plater Way for their entire lengths.
