What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

C2 HORNCLIFFE MAINS JUNCTION TO UNION BRIDGE HORNCLIFFE

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intend to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the C2 Horncliffe Mains Junction to Union Bridge from its junction with Chainbridge House, heading in a northerly direction for a distance of 201 metres continuing on in a south-westerly direction for a length of 53 metres in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 8th September 2025 until the 10th October 2025.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 8th September 2025 until the 3rd October 2025 and that the road will be closed at all times during this period.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being C2, C3, C6, A698, A1, B6461 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Spencer Bridge Engineering Ltd to carry out operational maintenance of the Union Chain Bridge.
