What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HAMMONDSTREET ROAD, CHESHUNT) ORDER NO.3 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hammondstreet Road, Cheshunt from its junction with Smith Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 264m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Hammondstreet Road, Dig Dag Hill, Longfield Lane, Flamstead End Road, B156 (Flamstead End Road/Churchgate Road/Goffs Lane), Newgatestreet Road and Hammondstreet Road.
The Order is needed because foul sewer connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF 3U151 (UNNAMED ROAD), WARESIDE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of 3U151 (unnamed road), Wareside from its junction with Cold Christmas Lane south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 1498m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Cold Christmas Lane, Cambridge Road, A1170 Wadesmill Road, Kingsway, High Oak Road, Fanhams Hall Road and 3U151 (unnamed road).
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN HODDESDON, PUCKERIDGE AND DANE END) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Brookside, Hoddesdon from its junction with Langton Road north eastwards and north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
2. that length of Station Road, Puckeridge from its junction with Perowne Way south eastwards to its junction with Meadow Walk, a distance of approximately 242m.
An alternative route will be via Station Road, South Road, A120 Kents Lane and Station Road.
3. that length of Mill Lane, Dane End from its junction with C95 (unnamed road) south westwards to its junction with Little Munden Byway Open to All Traffic No.022, a distance of approximately 487m.
An alternative route will be via C95 (unnamed road), Ermine Street, A10 Puckeridge Bypass, Mentley Lane West, C16 Great Munden, Munden Road and Mill Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN DATCHWORTH, WESTMILL, HERTFORD, CHAPMORE END, CROMER, DANE END, KNEBWORTH, WOOLMER GREEN, ARDELEY, BRAUGHING, WYDDIAL, STANDON AND TEWIN) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Rectory Lane, Datchworth from its junction with Baines Lane south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Datchworth Green, a distance of approximately 905m.
An alternative route will be via Baines Lane, Bury Lane, Hawkins Hall Lane, Watton Road and Datchworth Green.
2. that length of 3U20 (unnamed road), Westmill from its junction with Aspenden Road south eastwards to its junction with The Rookery, a distance of approximately 1192m.
An alternative route will be via Aspenden Road, London Road, A10 Puckeridge to Buntingford, Station Road, C16 (unnamed road) and 3U20 (unnamed road).
3. that length of B158 Wadesmill Road, Hertford/Chapmore End from its junction with Watermill Lane north eastwards to its junction with A602 Westmill Road, a distance of approximately 2764m.
An alternative route will be via B158 (Bengeo Street/Port Hill/ Cowbridge/Old Cross/Mill Bridge/The Wash/Parliament Square/ Castle Street), A414 (Gascoyne Way/London Road/Rush Green Link), A10 and A602 Westmill Road.
4. that length of The Heath, Cromer from its junction with B1037 (unnamed road) north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with A507 Baldock Road, a distance of approximately 1834m.
An alternative route will be via B1037 (unnamed road) and A507 Baldock Road.
5. that length of Wentworth Cottages, Dane End from its junction with U31 (unnamed road) north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
6. that length of Hollybush Lane, Datchworth/Knebworth from its junction with Bury Lane south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with New Road, a distance of approximately 980m.
An alternative route will be via Bury Lane, Hawkins Hall Lane, Watton Road, Datchworth Green, Mardleybury, B197 London Road and New Road.
7. that length of New Road, Woolmer Green from its junction with Hollybush Lane south westwards to its junction with Garden Road, a distance of approximately 455m.
An alternative route will be via Bury Lane, Hawkins Hall Lane, Watton Road, Datchworth Green. Mardleybury Road, B197 London Road and New Road.
8. that length of C14 (unnamed road), Ardeley from its junction with Mentley Lane north westwards, northwards, south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 1421m.
An alternative route will be via Mentley Lane, C16 Great Munden, Munden Road, Whempstead Lane, Town Lane, Walkern Road, Benington Road, B1037 (High Street/ Whitehill), C14 (unnamed road), Moor Green Road and C14 (unnamed road).
9. that length of C32 (unnamed road), Braughing from its junction with A10 Puckeridge to Buntingford north eastwards, eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with B1368 Hay Street, a distance of approximately 1208m.
An alternative route will be via A10 Puckeridge to Buntingford and B1368 (Buntingford Road/Wickham Hill/Station Road/ Green End/Hay Street).
10. that length of Vicarage Lane, Braughing from its junction with Pelham Road north westwards to its junction with The Street, a distance of approximately 167m.
An alternative route will be via Pelham Road and The Street.
11. that length of Moles Lane, Wyddial from its junction with Wyddial Road south eastwards to its junction with Moles Farm, a distance of approximately 378m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
12. that length of Paper Mill Lane, Standon from its junction with Barwick Road south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards for its enire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
13. that length of Queen Hoo Lane, Tewin from its junction with Tewin Hill north westwards, northwards and north westwards to its junction with Bramfield Road, a distance of approximately 882m.
An alternative route will be via Tewin Hill and Bramfield.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WINDMILL LANE, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Windmill Lane, Cheshunt from its junction with Station Approach north eastwards and eastwards for a distance of approximately 78m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because bridge inspection and maintenance works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 31 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF EAST STREET, WARE) ORDER NO.2 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of East Street, Ware from its junction with A1170 High Road north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with New Road, a distance of approximately 96m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A1170 High Road and New Road.
The Order is needed because scaffolding works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 30 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE SERVICE ROAD FRONTING NOS.58-120 HIGH STREET, WALTHAM CROSS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the service road fronting Nos.58-120 High Street, Waltham Cross from a point in line with the southern boundary of ‘The Moon and Cross Public House’ southwards for a distance of approximately 40m (“the Road”).
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF OLD HALL GREEN, WARE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Old Hall Green, Ware from a point in line with the eastern boundary of ‘Hill Farm Bungalow’ north westwards for a distance of approximately 45m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Old Hall Green, Ermine Street, C95 (unnamed road) and Old Hall Green.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 20 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Kettle Green Lane, Much Hadham from its junction with B1004 Tower Hill north westwards for a distance of approximately 300m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B1004 (Tower Hill/High Street), C15 (unnamed road), Bromley Lane, Hadham Road, High Street, A120 (Kents Lane/Standon Hill), Ermine Street, Gore Lane, C39 (unnamed road) and Kettle Green Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 18 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
