What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTIONS 14(1)(b) AND (7)

THE A1 TRUNK ROAD (WOTHORPE, PETERBOROUGH)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the A1 Trunk Road, at Wothorpe, in City of Peterborough, due to the likelihood of danger whilst there is increased traffic during the Burghley Horse Trials.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding on the link road leading from the southbound carriageway of the A1 to the A1175 Kettering Road, at Wothorpe. The order is expected to be in operation between 05:00 hours and 13:00 hours on Saturday 6th September 2025. The Order will come into force on 1 September 2025.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes will be exempt from the closure. A diversion via the A1/B1081 junction will be signed.
