Tendring - Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Inspection Works
What is happening?

(Footpath 48 & Footpath 2, Lawford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 48 and Footpath 2, Lawford in the District of Tendring, as specified below.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while critical maintenance works to the flood protection embankment is undertaken.
Alternative route: Footpath 2, B1352 Station Road, A137, Cattawade Sluice, Footpath 48 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11 August 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Oakley Road, Dovercourt)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Oakley Road, Dovercourt in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Ramsey Road to its junction with Low Road a distance of approximately 215m.
To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No stopping’ restriction in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.
“The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 1st September 2025 for 6 nights (20:00–05:00) or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388933 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while machine surfacing works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via B1414, Wix Road, Oakley Road, Harwich Road, A120, B1352 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 15th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Brantham Road, Lawford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brantham Road, Lawford in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 95m north east of the junction with Dale Hall Roundabout for a distance of approximately 70m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th August 2025 for 1 night (23:00–06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (KL735LTN1-59-46-24082 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while level crossing inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
An alternative route is available for vehicles over 9’6” via Brantham Road, Dale Hall Roundabout, A137, A133, A1232, A12, A14, A137 and vice versa (vehicles under 9’6” under the bridge).
The Order came into effect on 1st August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
