THE A1 TRUNK ROAD (WOTHORPE TO

BLYTH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (LAYBYS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an order on the A1 Trunk Road, between Wothorpe and Blyth, in the City of Peterborough, North Northamptonshire and in the counties of Rutland, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, to allow routine maintenance works to be carried out.

The effect of the Order will be to close any layby situated adjacent to the northbound and southbound carriageways of the A1 between the centreline of the A43 and A1175 Kettering Road underbridge, at Wothorpe, and the centreline of the A614 Bawtry Road overbridge, at Blyth.

The laybys will be closed in phases, between 13:00 hours and 06:00 hours. The closures are expected to start on Tuesday 9 September 2025 and continue for approximately four months.  The Order will come into force on Tuesday  2 September 2025.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority or ambulance purposes and vehicles being used in connection with the works and winter maintenance vehicles will be exempt from the closures.
