What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ASTONS ROAD, MOOR PARK) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Astons Road, Moor Park from its junction with Batchworth Lane north eastwards to its junction with Anson Walk, a distance of approximately 76m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via local adjacent roads while the closures are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order shall come into force on 28 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs or on near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A41 HEMPSTEAD ROAD, HUNTON BRIDGE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A41 Hempstead Road, Hunton Bridge from its junction with the A41 North Western Avenue/A411 Hempstead Road roundabout north westwards to its junction with Old Mill Road, a distance of approximately 218m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A41 North Western Avenue, A405 (North Orbital Road)/Alban Road (North Orbital Road), A414 (London Road), the M1, A411 (Boreham Wood)/A5/A41 Round Wood/Trotters Road/Two Waters Way), A4251 (London Road/Hempstead Road/High Street/Watford Road) and A41 Watford Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NIGHTINGALE ROAD, RICKMANSWORTH) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Nightingale Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with A404 Chorleywood Road north eastwards to its junction with A404 Chorleywood Road, a distance of approximately 124m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Nightingale Road, A412 (Uxbridge Road/Northway Road) and A404 Nightingale Road or via A404 Chorleywood Road. The Order is needed because of the erecting of gas works on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE RUTTS, BUSHEY HEATH) ORDER NO.2 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Rutts, Bushey Heath from its junction with Rutherford Way north westwards to its junction with The Panniers, a distance of approximately 285m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via The Rutts, A4140 High Road, A409 (Magpie Hall Road/Heathbourne Road), A411 Stanmore Road and The Rutts.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN WATFORD) ORDER NO.3 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of the Order will be to:
To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Berksin Road, Watford from a point 17m south west of its junction with Harwoods Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 71m.
An alternative route will be via Berksin Road, A4145 (Rickmansworth/Langley Road) and Harwoods Road.
To prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle lane situated on the south east side of Berksin Road, Watford from its junction with Harwoods Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 71m.
Pedal Cyclists will instead be moved to the adjacent footway.
The cycling lane will stay closed until use on Berksin Road, Watford from a point 17m south west of its junction with Harwoods Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 71m.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads and Cycle Lane.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON A411 BARNET LANE, ELSTREE AND FURZEHILL ROAD, BOREHAMWOOD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of the Order will be:
To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A411 Barnet Lane, Elstree from its junction with A5183 High Street south eastwards for a distance of approximately 438m, except for access.
An alternative route will be via A5183 High Street/Elstree Hill South, A41 Edgware Way (Worlds End), A41 Barnet Way (Barnet Bypass) and A411 Barnet Lane.
The existing 7.5 tonne weight restriction on Furzehill Road, Borehamwood from its junction with the A411 Barnet Lane roundabout north westwards to its junction with B5378 Shenley Road, a distance of approximately 1671m will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to use this length of road, whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN TOMS LANE, KINGS LANGLEY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using that length of Toms Lane, Kings Langley from its junction with Primrose Hill north eastwards to a distance of approximately 210m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Primrose Hill, Station Road, Gallows Hill, Hamilton Road, Hunton Bridge Hill, South Way, Langley Lane, Tibbs Hill Road, Bedmond Road, High Street and Toms Lane.
ADDITIONALLY: all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON BEETHOVEN ROAD, BOREHAMWOOD AND THE FOOTPATH SITUATED BETWEEN NO.30 AND NO.28 BEETHOVEN ROAD, ELSTREE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:
To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Beethoven Road, Borehamwood from its junction with Sullivan Way north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Coates Road, a distance of approximately 236m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Sullivan Way and Coates Road.
ADDITIONALLY: all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road whilst works are in progress.
To prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated between No.28 and No.30 Beethoven Road, Elstree from its junction with Beethoven Road north westwards to its junction with Delius Close, a distance of approximately 67m (“the Footpath”).
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Beethoven Road, the footway situated on the east side of Sullivan Way and the footway situated on the south side of Delius Close.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road and Footpath.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 11 August 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Footpath.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Norfolk Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with the north eastern boundary of No.25 Norfolk Road north eastwards to a distance of approximately 124m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Norfolk Road, Church Street, Skidmore Way, Waters Drive and Norfolk Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 12 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

The Order is needed because utility repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

An alternative route will be via The Green.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Harthall Lane, Kings Langley from a point 80m north east of its junction with Railway Terrace north eastwards for a distance of approximately 60m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Harthall Lane, Railway Terrace, Lower Road, Toms Lane, Bedmond Road and Harthall Lane.
The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 10 August 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

The making of Traffic Regulation Orders is a statutory function of the County Council. Any person wishing to question the validity of an Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with, may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of the Order.
