(A72 HORSBURGH) (TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (A72 Horsburgh) (Temporary 30mph Speed Limited) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 06:00 on 16 August 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 02:00 on 17 August 2025. The Order is required in the interests of public safety to permit safe access and egress due to increased traffic attending Peebles Agricultural Show.
When the Order comes into effect, in the interests of public safety, no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle at a speed exceeding 30mph along that length of the A72 at Horsburgh from 650 metres east of its junction with the B7088 to 440 metres west of the same junction.

(D45/1 THRIPLAND, SOUTH OF BIGGAR) (TEMPORARY CLOSING) NO 2 ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (D45/1 Thripland, South of Biggar) (Temporary Closing) No 2 Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 12 August 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. The Order is required for BT pole replacement works.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the D45/1 at Thripland, South of Biggar from Thripland to South Lanarkshire Boundary.
The alternative route for north eastbound traffic is via Legholmshield Road, Birthwood Road, A702, Hartree Entries Road and D45/1 to the point of closure, for south westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.
