What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 GIBSON LANE SOUTH, MELTON LEVEL CROSSING
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Gibson Lane South, Melton Level Crossing (20 metres either side of the crossing).
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed RRV to access and egress works and to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. There is no alternative route for traffic affected by this closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic but remain open at all times to pedestrians and for vehicular access to properties directly affected by the closure and for emergency services.
The Order will commence Sunday 24 August 2025 (between 00.45 hours and 06.45 hours) and will continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Further information can be obtained from Streetscene Services, Highways Maintenance, telephone (01482) 393939. Ref: JS.
