Skipton Road and Area - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic
What is happening?
North Yorkshire Council, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Various
roads in the locality of Skipton Road, Killinghall, Order 2025, No. 289
We have made this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using various roads in
the locality of Skipton Road, Killinghall (Harrogate) other than in accordance
with Schedules 1, 2 & 3 below due to highway construction/ highway
realignment works in association with the new Tesco superstore
development. Schedule 1 - One Way traffic Eastbound - No person shall
except upon the direction of or with the permission of a Police Constable in
uniform cause or permit any vehicle to proceed along Skipton Road,
Killinghall, between its junction with Harewood Road & its junction with
Ripon Road, A61 in any direction other than an eastbound direction
between the 18/08/25 & 28/09/25. Schedule 2 - One Way traffic Westbound
- No person shall except upon the direction of or with the permission of a
Police Constable in uniform cause or permit any vehicle to proceed along
Skipton Road, Killinghall, between its junction with Ripon Road, A61 & its
junction with Harewood Road in any direction other than a westbound
direction between the 29/09/25 & 10/10/25. Schedule 3 - Road closures -
No person shall except upon the direction of or with the permission of a
Police Constable in uniform cause or permit any vehicle to proceed along
Electric Avenue, from its junction with Skipton Road to a point 20 metres
south of its junction with Skipton Road between the 18/08/25 & 28/09/25.
No person shall except upon the direction of or with the permission of a
Police Constable in uniform cause or permit any vehicle to proceed along
Euclid Avenue, from its junction with Skipton Road to a point 20 metres
south of its junction with Skipton Road between the 18/08/25 & 28/09/25. It
is envisaged that the restrictions will be in force from 18/08/25 until 10/10/25
inclusive, however the max duration of this Order will be for 12 months. The
closure period will only apply as indicated by the placing of traffic signs & a
local alternative route will also be signed on site where appropriate. The
7.5T environmental weight restriction which is in force on the B6161 Otley
Road, Killinghall as detailed in Item 7, Part 1 of the First Schedule of the
North Yorkshire County Council Weight Restrictions Consolidation Order

20, 30 & 40 Mph Speed Limits, Various Roads, Markington, Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council proposes to make
an Order under Sections 84(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which will be to
prohibit any motor vehicle from travelling: At a speed in excess of 20 mph
on any length of road specified in Table 1: Table 1 – 20mph Dam Lane,
Markington from its junction with Hincks Hall Lane in a westerly direction for
19 metres. High Street, Markington, from its junction with Hincks Hall Lane
in an easterly direction for 387 metres. Westerns Lane, Markington, from its
junction with High Street in a northerly direction for 105 metres. Back Lane,
Markington, for its entire length. Kingwood, Markington, for its entire length.
At a speed in excess of 30 mph on any length of road specified in Table 2:
Table 2 – 30mph High Street, Markington, from its junction with the C375
and C263 in a south-westerly direction for 202 metres. C263 Markington,
from its junction with High Street and C375 in a northerly direction for 1009
metres. C375 Markington, from its junction with High Street and C263 in a
south-easterly direction for 240 metres. Beechwood Close, Markington, for
its entire length. At a speed in excess of 40 mph on the length of road
specified in Table 3: Table 3 – 40mph C375 Markington, from a point 240
metres south-east from its junction with High Street & C263 in a southeasterly direction for 300 metres. A copy of the draft Order, together with a
map showing the roads affected & a statement of the Council’s reasons for
proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton
& at Ripon Library, The Arcade, Ripon, HG4 1AG during normal office hours
from 14/08/25 until 05/09/25 & also viewed online at
