What is happening?

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF AN ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION (PUBLIC FOOTPATH 66, EPWORTH) ORDER 2025(1)

On 6 August 2025 North Lincolnshire Council confirmed the above order made under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to extinguish the public footpath in Epworth running from its junction with Public Footpath 69 north-north-east to Fieldside, as shown on the order map, and if confirmed the definitive map and statement will be modified in consequence. as shown on the order map.

A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map have been placed and free of charge may be seen at or a copy obtained from Church Square House, 30 - 40 High Street, Scunthorpe, DN15 6NL from 9.00am to 4.30pm on weekdays other than bank holidays; or online at www. northlincs.gov.uk (search on Public Rights of Way Current Public Notices).

The order comes into force as from 13 August 2025, but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 14 August 2025, make an application to the High Court.
