Newtown - Temporary Road Closure To Move Apparatus in Carriageway

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Newtown

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Newtown - from 108 metres south-east of the junction with Gainsborough, south-westwards for a total distance of 84 metres.

This Order will enable M Group Telecom to move apparatus in carriageway on behalf of Gigaclear.

The Order becomes effective on 14th August 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 21st August 2025 and last until 22nd August 2025 between the hours of 08:00 - 17:00 for a total of 2 days.
