Wiltshire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Utility Works
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) C20 (Part), Market Lavington; from its junction with A360 for a distance of approximately 900m in a south easterly direction.
B) C20 (Part), Market Lavington; from its junction with A360 for a distance of approximately 230m in a north westerly direction. And to temporarily introduce a 20mph speed restriction on the following length of road:
C) A360 (Part), Market Lavington; from a point approximately 20m north of its junction with Cheverell Road for a distance of approximately 115m in a southerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out traffic signals works – carriageway resurfacing, replacement of road markings, adjustment of ironworks, drainage and traffic signal installation and associated works. Alternative route via Ledge Hill – Spin Hill – Parsonage Lane – Grove Road – The Spring – Lavington Lane – High Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 03 September 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 until 10 October 2025. D) C250 (Part), Bromham; from its junction with the Right of Way known as Footpath 41, Bromham for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out works to repair the defective tarmac surround of manhole cover and other associated works. Alternative route via C250 (unaffected length) – A342 – Hawkstreet – C250 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 02 September 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 for 2 days. E) C275 (Part), Corsley; from its junction with The Hollow to its junction with Court Lane to enable Openreach to carry out customer connection and associated works. Alternative route via C275 (unaffected length) – A362 – C274 – C275 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. F) C362 (Part), Warminster; from both junctions with B3414 to its junction with Emwell Street to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out new connection and associated works. Alternative route via C362 (unaffected length) – A36 – B3414 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 August 2025 and the closure will start at 09:30 and will be required 24 hours a day for 4 days. G) School Lane (Part), Staverton; from a point approximately 30m south of its junction with B3105 for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out mobile crane works to lift sectional school buildings into place and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 12 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 5 days.

H) B3353 (Part), Corsham; from its junction with Paul Street for a distance of approximately 40m in a north westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer leak repair works and other associated works. Alternative route via B3353 (unaffected length) – A4 – A365 – B3353 (unaffected length) and vice versa. I) C157 (Part), Corsham; from outside its property known as Linleys Barn for a distance of approximately 89m in a north easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out new duct connection and associated works. Alternative route via C157 (unaffected length) – B3353 – C4 – Rough Street – C157 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 11 August 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:30 for 5 days. J) Paul Street (Part), Corsham; from its junction with B3353 to its property known as No.14 Paul Street to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer line repair works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order (which previously came into operation on 27 January 2025) will now recommence on 11 August 2025 and the closure will be required until 29 August 2025. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6003600 Orders A) to I) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Order J) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Phase 1: Storridge Road (Part), Heywood and Westbury; from its junction with The Ham to its junction with Quartermaster Road.
Phase 2: Storridge Road (Part), Westbury; from its junction with Quartermaster Road to its junction with Headquarters Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway patching and associated works. Alternative route Phase 1 via Quartermaster Road – Link Road – B3097 and vice versa. Alternative route phase 2 via Headquarters Road – Broadway North – Quartermaster Road and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 01 September 2025 and the closure will be required on weekdays only between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00 until 10 September 2025. These plans are subject to change in the event of unfavourable weather conditions. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months. Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:
Waterworks Road, Trowbridge; from its junction with A361 for a distance of approximately 240m in a north westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to establish a Point of Driving Order on Waterworks Road to allow safe access and egress to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out resurfacing works and associated works. Alternative route via Frome Road – Wingfield Road – Gloucester Road – Avenue Road. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 11 August 2025 and the closure will be required weekdays between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 until 29 August 2025. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
