Peterborough Area: Glinton, Peterborough, Bretton - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic

What is happening?

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through
Traffic Order – Helpston Road, Glinton 2025 Ref: 26-107

The effect of which is to stop any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the footpath/cycle path known as Helpston Road, Glinton, over Clare footbridge for it’s entire length. The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to works being proposed to be executed on the above footpath/cycle path. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this Order is: None available. The Order will come into operation on the 18/08/2025 and will continue until the surface cleaning and waterproofing works have been completed or until the 17/02/2026, whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed during the hours of 20:00 and 06:00, between the 18/08/2025 and 29/08/2025.

Traffic Order 2025 – Towler Street, Peterborough. Ref: 26-092

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Towler Street as lies between Burghley Road and St Mark’s Street. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is via: St Mark’s Street, Church Walk, Lincoln Road and Burghley Road. The proposed order will come into force on the 18/08/2025 and will continue until the communication pipe repair works have been completed or until the 17/08/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site.
It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 18/08/2025 and the 20/08/2025.

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through
Traffic Order – Wellingtonia Cycle Path, Orton, Peterborough
– 2025                                          Ref: 26-093

The effect of which is to stop any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the footpath/cycle path known as Wellingtonia Cycle Path, Orton, as lies between Debdale and Cherry Orton Road. The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to works being proposed to be executed on the above footpath/cycle path. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this order is: via: Orton Waterville 1 Section 1 Bridleway, New Road, Cherry Orton Road, The Ortons Cycle Paths and vice versa. The proposed Order will come into operation on the 18/08/2025 and will continue until the cut & patch and resurfacing works have been completed or until the 17/02/2026, whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that the works will be carried out between the 18/08/2025 and the 20/08/2025.

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through
Traffic Order 2025 – Linnet, Orton, Peterborough.

                                                    Ref: 26-094

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Linnet, Orton as lies between 4 and 22 Linnet. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. There is no alternative route for vehicles affected by this order (cul de sac). The proposed order will come into force on the 19/08/2025 and will continue until the new telecommunications connection works have been completed or until the 18/08/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site.
It is anticipated that the works will take place between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs on the 19/08/2025 only.

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough intends in not less than seven days to make an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through
Traffic Order – Muskham, Bretton – 2025 Ref: 26-109

The effect of which is to stop any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the footpath/cycle path known as Muskham, Bretton, as lies between 39 and 55 Muskham. The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to works being proposed to be executed on the above footpath/cycle path. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this order is: 63 Muskham, 65 Muskham, 48 Sprignall, 10 Muskham, 27 Muskham, 32 Deerleap, 37 Muskham and vice versa. The proposed Order will come into operation on 27/08/2025 and will continue until the new boundary box and meter works have been completed or until the 26/02/2026, whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated that the works will be carried out between 27/08/2025 and 29/08/2025.
