Balkham Lane - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?
DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
BALKHAM LANE, SHIREBROOK
WHEN: 01 September to 12 September 2025.
WHERE: Balkham Lane, Shirebrook from its jct. with the B6407 Common Lane for a distance of 100m in a westerly direction.
REASON: To facilitate highway improvement / resurfacing works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: B6407 Common Lane, Pleasley Interchange, B6417 Rotherham Road, Green Lane, Un-named Road, Balkham Lane (to point of closure) and vice versa.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
