(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (No.2) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of B5272 Garstang Road, Cockerham from outside property known as Kingfisher Roost to its junction with Park Lane.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Tuesday 19th August 2025 until 1800 hours on Thursday 21st August 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents and emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
B5272 Garstang Road - B5272 Main Street – A588 Lancaster Road – A588 Main Road – A588 Lancaster Road - A588 Ashton Road – A6 Greaves Road – A6 Scotforth Road – A6 Preston Lancaster Road – A6 Main Road – A6 Lancaster Road – A6 Lancaster New Road – B5272 Cockerham Road – B5272 Park Lane and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow Network Plus to rebuild fire hydrant chamber and make hydrant accessible on behalf of United Utilities.
