What is happening?

NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER

SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

The Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the County of Lancashire

The LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
ADDITION OF RESTRICTED BYWAY FROM CHURCH STREET TO WATER STREET, RIBCHESTER (THE WEIND)
Definitive Map Modification Order 2025

The above Order, made on 22 January 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the area, by recording a Restricted byway from the open junction with Church Street between Alandale House and 58 Church Street in an easterly direction bounded on either side by the walls of adjacent properties to open junction with Water Street between houses 28A and 29 Water Street.

The total length of the route is 0.035 km and the width varies between 2.4 metres and 4 metres.

A copy of the Order and the Order Map may also be seen free of charge at the offices of Ribble Valley Borough Council, and at my offices from 9.00 and 17.00 on weekdays. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £1.00. A free digital copy of the Order may be requested by emailing

or by telephoning Simon Moore on 01772 531280 between 9.00 and 17.00, Monday to Friday.

Any representations about, or objections to the Order may be sent in writing by email to

simon.moore@lancashire.gov.uk

or by letter to Simon Moore, Lancashire County Council, PO Box 100, County Hall, Preston, PR1 0LD (REF: LSG4/888.3939/SM18) not later than 25 August 2025 and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which they are made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, Lancashire County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State for the Environment, may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
