SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL

PUBLIC NOTICE
DARNALL AND ATTERCLIFFE - PROPOSED SPEED HUMPS AND
SEGREGATED CYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN CROSSING

Notice is hereby given that Sheffield City Council in exercise of its powers under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, (hereinafter called ‘the Act’) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with section 90C of the Act, intends to install road humps as below:

11 Kerb to Kerb flat top road humps, 75mm high with a 6 metres long plateau with 1.5m ramps at the following locations
Effingham Street – at a point 17 metres south east of its junction with the eastern kerb line of the north east bound/south west bound section of Effingham Street
Effingham Street – at a point 93 metres south east of its junction with the eastern kerb line of the north east bound/south west bound section of Effingham Street
Effingham Street – at a point 124 metres west of its junction with the western kerb line Sussex Road
Furnival Road – at a point 47 metres south west of its junction with the south western kerb line of Sussex Street
Furnival Road – at a point 24 metres north east of its junction with the north eastern kerb line of Sussex Street
Effingham Road – at a point 95 metres east of its junction with the eastern kerb line of Bernard Road
Effingham Road – at a point 177 metres east of its junction with the eastern kerb line of Bernard Road
Effingham Road – at a point 261 metres east of its junction with the eastern kerb line of Bernard Road
Effingham Road – at a point 362 metres east of its junction with the eastern kerb line of Bernard Road
Effingham Road – at a point 151 metres southwest of its junction with the southwestern kerb line of Bacon Lane
Effingham Road – at a point 63 metres southwest of its junction with the southwestern kerb line of Bacon Lane

1 kerb to kerb flat top speed hump, 75mm high with a 6m long plateau and 1.5m ramps at the following location
Effingham Road – at a point 68 metres north east of its junction with the north eastern kerb line of Bacon Lane.
1 Speed Plateau, kerb to kerb, 75mm high and 19 metres long at the following location
Wilfrid Road – at its junction with Shirland Lane extending 5 metres into Shirland Lane
1 Speed Plateau to be kerb to kerb, 75mm high and 16m long at the following
location
Staniforth Road – at its junction with Balfour Road.

Notice is hereby given that Sheffield City Council in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intend to permit the installation of a signalised segregated cycle and pedestrian crossing place on Staniforth Road at the location listed below:
Staniforth Road – at its junction with Balfour Road.
These measures are aimed at controlling speed and improving safety for pedestrians and road users at these locations.

examined during normal opening hours at First Point Reception, Howden House, 1 Union Street, Sheffield, S1 2SH or in Proposed Traffic Orders on the Council website at
