TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 13th August 2025 it made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles along the lengths of road in the Schedule. The Order is required to facilitate gas main repair works on or near the road. The Order will come into operation on 15th September 2025. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be 18 months, however it is estimated that the closure will only be in operation for 12 days from commencement of the works. All vehicles will be prohibited from the roads in the Schedule (except vehicles involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. Vehicular access to affected properties will be maintained throughout the closure. A diversion will be provided via the adjacent highway network.
SCHEDULE Hollycarrside Road from (and including) its junction with Hewitt Avenue, to its junction with Leechmere Way. Leechmere Way from its junction with Ralph Avenue to its junction with Hollycarrside Road. Leatham from its junction with Hollycarrside Road, for a distance of 20 metres in a westerly direction.
