What is happening?

NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL

BALLOCH ROAD (FOOTPATH),

CUMBERNAULD (TEMPORARY

PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIAN MOVEMENT)

ORDER 2025

On 4 August 2025 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to proceed on foot (with the exception of persons engaged on footpath reconstruction) on Balloch Road (Footpath), Cumbernauld from Ben Lawers Drive to Kierhill Bus Stop by reason of works being executed on or near that location.

Alternative routes: Route 1 – Via Kierhill Road, Cowan Road, Cardross Place and Ben Lawers Drive.

Route 2 – Via Craigneuk Gardens, Pleamuir Place and Cowan Road and following route 1.

Pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

The Order, will come into operation at 0600 hours on Wednesday,

20th August 2025 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Thursday, 28th August 2025.
