Croydon - Temporary Road Closures and Parking Restrictions due to Utility Works
What is happening?
Official Notice
2. Whilst the said works are taking place, Hermitage Road will be closed between its junctions with Chevening Road and Wicks Way.
3. During the closure traffic will be diverted via the alternative routes below.
• Via Central Hill, Westow Hill, Church Road, Beulah Hill and vice versa.
• Via Central Hill, Crown Dale, Beulah Hill and vice versa.
4. The Order will come into operation on 07 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 11 August 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:
(a) A vehicle involved in the said work.
(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
6. The restriction will only apply during such times and to such an extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

IMPERIAL WAY, CROYDON
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF PARKING
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works to a metered water supply on behalf of Thames Water, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict parking in Imperial Way, Croydon
2. Whilst the said works are taking place, parking on both sides of the road outside No. 10 Imperial Way will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time.
3. The Order will come into operation on 14 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 22 August 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
4. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) A vehicle involved in the said work.
(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

BRIGHTON ROAD, PURLEY
TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate telecoms ducting works, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic on Brighton Road, Purley.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place:
a) The south-eastern footway of Brighton Road will be closed outside No. 2, The Lawns, Brighton Road.
b) The cycle lane on the south-eastern side of Brighton Road will be closed between the common boundary of Nos. 823a and 825 Brighton Road and the common boundary of Nos. 3 and 4 The Lawns, Brighton Road.
3. During the closure, cyclists will be diverted into the main carriageway and pedestrians will be diverted via a walkway in the carriageway.
4. The Order will come into operation on 27 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 29 August 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) A vehicle or person involved in the said work.
(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate telecoms work to rectify a defective carriage chamber, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in High Street, Croydon.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place, High Street, Croydon will be closed between its junctions with Fell Road and Edridge Road.
3. During the closure, vehicular traffic will be diverted as detailed below.
• Via Fell Road, The Croydon Flyover (eastbound), The Croydon Flyover (westbound), and Edridge Road.
4. The Order will come into operation on 23 August 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within two days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:
(a) A vehicle involved in the said work.
(b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate works to install a new customer connection on behalf of UKPN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in Plough Lane, Purley.
2. During the work:
a) The road will be closed to vehicular traffic outside No. 38 Plough Lane.
b) The eastern footway outside No. 38 Plough Lane will be closed to pedestrians.
