What is happening?

 THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

PART OF CHURCH LANE, HOTHAM

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of Church Lane, Hotham from a point 80 metres east of the junction with Main Street eastbound for a distance of approximately 50 metres commencing 2 September 2025 at 08.00

hours until 8 September 2025 at 20.00 hours.

The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed part of Church Lane, Hotham new water connection works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within seven days.

The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Church Lane, Main Street, Rectory Lane, Common Hill, Cliffe Road, Market Weighton Road, Cliff Road, A1079 Giant Bradley Way, A1079 Sancton Road Roundabout, A1034 Sancton Road, A1034 King Street, A1034 Newbald Road, A1034 Sands Top, Hotham Road, South Newbald Road and Padcroft Lane, South Cliffe CP, Hotham CP, Sancton CP, Market Weighton CP, Newbald CP, Howdenshire Ward, Beverley Rural Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.

The road will be closed to all through traffic but access will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians. The Order will commence 2 September 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
