What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
PART OF LOWER BRIDGE STREET, GOOLE
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of Lower Bridge Street, Goole from a point 150 metres north of its junction with Bridge Street northbound for a distance of approximately 200 metres commencing 30 August 2025 at 08.00 until 31 August 2025 at 18.00 hours.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed part of Lower Bridge Street, Goole highway maintenance works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within two days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Lower Bridge Street, Coronation Street, Mariners Street, Boothferry Road, A614 Rawcliffe Road, Andersen Road, A161 Normandy Way and A161 Normandy Way Roundabout, Goole CP, Goole South Ward, Goole North Ward.
The road will be closed to all traffic without exception but access will be maintained for pedestrians. The Order will commence 30 August 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
