What is happening?
The Isle of Wight Council (Cycle Track from Sandown to Newport, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians and Cyclists) Order No 4 2025
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between Wednesday 13 August 2025 and Friday 15 August 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any pedestrian or cyclist to proceed along Cycle Track from Sandown to Newport, Sandown between its junctions with Newchurch Footpath 11 and Alverstone Shute. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Drainage works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Cycle Track from Newport to Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Cycle track Closure) Order No 2 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift, between Wednesday 13 August 2025, and Friday 15 August 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any pedestrian, cyclist or equestrian to proceed along Cycle Track from Newport to Cowes, between its junction with Arctic Road, and its junction with Cowes & East Cowes Footpath 33, The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during cycle track repairs.
The Isle of Wight Council (Minerva Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift, between Wednesday 13 August 2025, and Friday 15 August 2025, or when the works has been completed, there will be a one-way restriction introduced along Minerva Road, East Cowes, from its junction with Kingston Road, East Cowes to its junction with Adelaide Grove, East Cowes. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The one way is required during ironwork repairs.
The Isle of Wight Council (Parkhurst Road, Newport Slipway, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between Tuesday 12 August 2025, and Thursday 14 August 2025, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Parkhurst Road, Newport Slipway, between its junction with St Marys Hospital and its junction with Dodnor Lane. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Street Furniture repairs.
The Isle of Wight Council (Upton Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 2 2025
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1900 hours on Tuesday 12 August 2025 until 0600 hours on Wednesday 13 August 2025, or when the works has been completed, Upton Road, Ryde will be closed between its junction with St Michaels Avenue, and its junction Node Close. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.
The Isle of Wight Council (School Lane, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 on Monday 11 August until 0800 hours on Monday 25 August 2025, A one-way restriction will be introduced along School Lane, Newport, from its junction with Staplers Road to its junction with Royal Exchange. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required during utility works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Bernard Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2025
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that either between 0600 and 1800 hours or between 1800 and 0600 hours, for approximately 1-15 days, between Friday 08 August 2025 and Friday 12 September 2025, or when the works has been completed, the one-way restriction will be revoked along Bernard Road, Cowes, for its entire length. On-street signage will depict the exact times and days of the revocation. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required during road maintenance works in the area.
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 08 August 2025 and Friday 19 September 2025 the following roads will be closed at all times, for a period of approximately five days within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable carriageway maintenance works to be undertaken. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads: and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road were indicated by traffic signs. These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing works, reflective stud work and lining works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and on street advanced warning signs before the scheme commences. The Isle of Wight Council (Nelson Crescent, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2025 – Nelson Crescent, Ryde, will be closed for its entire length.

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0630 hours and 1900 hours on Sunday 10 August 2025, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along a) Esplanade between its junctions with Battery Slip Way and Esplanade Road. This order is required in the interests of road safety during the Sandown Regatta Event. Alternative routes will be signposted locally.
The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure & Temporary No Waiting At Any Time) Order No 4 2025
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that on Thursday 14 August 2025, between 1830 hours and 2330 hours, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed or wait along, 1) Hope Hill for its entire length; 2) Esplanade for its entire length. The closure and restriction are required for safety during the Shanklin Regatta Event. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that on Tuesday 13 August 2024, between 1100 hours and 1400 hours, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed or wait along, 1) Dudley Road for its entire length; 2) Pier Street between its junctions with Albert Street and High Street; 3) High Street between its junction with Pier Street and Victoria Street; 4) Victoria Street between its junctions with High Street and Albert Street; 5) Albert Street for its entire length; 6) Church Street for its entire length; 7) Belgrave Road for its entire length; 8) Park Avenue for its entire length. The closure is required for safety during the Ventnor Children’s Carnival. The alternative route will be signposted locally.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that on Wednesday 13 August 2025, between 1800 hours and 2130 hours, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed or wait along, 1) Dudley Road for its entire length; 2) Pier Street between its junctions with Albert Street and High Street; 3) High Street for its entire length; 4) Madeira Road between its junctions with High Street and St Catherine Street; 5) St Catherine Street for its entire length; 6) Pier Street for its entire length; 7) Victoria Street for its entire length; 8) Albert Street for its entire length; 9) Church Street for its entire length; 10) Belgrave Road for its entire length; 11) Park Avenue for its entire length. The closure is required for safety during the Ventnor Main Carnival. The alternative route will be signposted locally.
