What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025STATION ROAD, HOWDEN
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from
proceeding along part of Station Road, Howden from approximately 500 metres north of its junction with Flatgate/Bridgegate northbound for approximately 600 metres commencing 1 September 2025 until 11 September 2025 and again from 13 October 2025 until 23 October 2025 Monday to Thursday between 21.00 hours until 05.30 hours for the purposes of works to construct a new roundabout. The reason for the closure is to enable construction of a new roundabout on the proposed part of Station Road, Howden works to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed within 22 days. The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Station Road, Flatgate, Hull Road, A614 Howden to Holme on Spalding Moor, A163 Holme on Spalding Moor to B1228 Street Lane, Bubwith and B1228 Street Lane, Bubwith to Station Road, Howden, Seaton Ross CP, Wressle CP, Foggathorpe CP, Holme on Spalding Moor CP, Bubwith CP, Howden CP, Spaldington CP, Eastrington CP, Howdenshire Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward, Howden Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic, but access will be maintained at all times for residents, emergency services and pedestrians.
The Order will commence 1 September 2025, and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
