AMENDMENTS TO A PARKING PLACE
THE MERTON (PARKING PLACES) (W5 AND 5F) (AMENDMENT NO. 9) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, on 6 August 2025, made the above-mentioned Order under sections 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
The general effect of the “Parking Places” Order will be to remove the car club bay in Quintin Avenue, near its junction with Kingston Road and reinstate a shared-use parking place in its place.
A copy of the Order, which will come into force on 15 August 2025, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including a plan specifying the road or length of road affected by the Order, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden SM4 5DX.
Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof, or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

INTRODUCTION OF DISABLED PERSONS PARKING PLACES
THE MERTON (FREE PARKING PLACES) (DISABLED PERSONS) (NO. 286) ORDER 2025
THE MERTON (PARKING PLACES) (CW) (AMENDMENT NO. 4) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, on 6 August 2025 made the above-mentioned Orders under the powers conferred by sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.
The general effect of the ‘Free Parking Places’ Order will be to:–
(a) designate a parking place on the carriageway, 6.6 metres in length, at each of the general locations listed in the Schedule to this Notice, in which vehicles authorised by the Order may be left for any period without charge;
(b) provide that the parking places will operate at all times, unless otherwise stated;
(c) specify, in respect of the parking places, that vehicles displaying in the relevant position, a disabled persons badge (commonly referred to as “the Blue Badge”) issued by any local authority under the provisions of the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations 2000 may be left therein;
(d) provide that certain vehicles may wait in the parking places in certain circumstances, e.g. to allow persons to board or alight (maximum 2 minutes), to load or unload (maximum 20 minutes), etc.
The general effect of the ‘Parking Places Amendment’ Order will be to shorten in length an existing permit only parking place to facilitate the introduction of disabled persons parking place in Fortescue Road.
4. A copy of each of the Orders, which will come into force on 15 August 2025, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including plans which indicate the roads or lengths of road to which the Orders relate, can be inspected during normal office hours Mondays to Fridays, until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden.

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) (AMENDMENT NO. 2) ORDER 2025
The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to improve the parking facility for residents in Ridgway Place during construction and development works at No. 22 Ridgway Place, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to amend the London Borough of Merton (Ridgway Place, SW19) (Temporary Restriction of Traffic Order 2025 made on 29th May 2025 and lift the suspension of one permit holder parking place outside No. 20 Ridgway Place.
The Order will come into operation on Friday 8th August 2025 and will remain in force until 8th November 2026.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(ALEXANDRA ROAD, HAWKES ROAD, VICTORIA ROAD AND WILSON AVENUE, MITCHAM)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate gas main replacement works in Alexandra Road, Hawkes Road and Wilson Avenue, Mitcham, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said roads.
During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to:–
(a) enter or proceed in:–
(i) Alexandra Road, from its junction with Victoria Road to a point 3 metres south of the common boundary of Nos. 33 and 35 Alexandra Road; or
(ii) Hawkes Road, from its junction with Wilson Avenue to its junction with Border Gate; or
(iii) Wilson Avenue, from its junction with Victoria Road to a point 2 metres south of the common boundary of Nos. 6 and 8 Wilson Avenue;
(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in:–
(i) the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraphs (a)(i), (ii) and (iii) above; or
(ii) Victoria Road, from the common boundary of Nos. 34 and 36 Victoria Road to the common boundary of Nos. 40 and 42 Victoria Road.
Any designated parking place situated in the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a)(i) to (iii) and 2(b)(ii) above would be suspended for the duration of the works in those roads or lengths of road.
The restrictions and suspensions would apply only during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Vehicular traffic affected by:–
(a) the Alexandra Road closure should proceed using Victoria Road, Taylor Road and Fleming Mead or vice-versa;
(b) the Hawkes Road closure should proceed using Victoria Road, London Road, Lavender Avenue, Steers Mead, Border Gate, Hawkes Road and Wilson Avenue or vice-versa;
(c) the Wilson Avenue closure should proceed using Victoria Road, London Road, Lavender Avenue, Steers Mead, Border Gate and Hawkes Road or vice-versa.
Any vehicle that is in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986
Nothing in this Order would apply:–
(a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) so as to prevent vehicular access to premises in or adjacent to the roads or lengths of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
The Order would come into operation on Monday 18th August 2025 and remain in force for 3 months. The works are currently anticipated to be carried out as follows:–
Alexandra Road – from Friday 12th September 2025 to Monday 13th October 2025
Hawkes Road – from Monday 18th August 2025 to Friday 19th September 2025
Wilson Avenue – from Friday 5th September 2025 to Monday 6th October 2025

(BOXLEY ROAD, SM4)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate gas mains replacement works in Boxley Road, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic and suspend the one-way working in Boxley Road.
During the works:–
(a) no person would cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Boxley Road between its junction with the service arm of St Helier Avenue and its junction with Morden Road;
(b) no person would cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above;
(c) the one-way working in Boxley Road between Arbuthnot Road and Morden Road would be suspended.
N.B. The works would be carried out in 2 phases. During phase 1, Boxley Road would be closed between its junction with the service arm of St Helier Avenue and its junction with Arbuthnot Road and during phase 2 of the works, Boxley Road would be closed between its junction with Arbuthnot Road and its junction with Morden Road.
