What is happening?

Essex County Council 

Various temporary restrictions for the Special Event Appetite on The Farm, Kelvedon Hatch 

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended 

Effect of the orders:

(Kelvedon Hall Lane, Church Road, Beacon Hill, Beacon Hill Road and Kelvedon Hatch) (Appetite on the Farm) (Special Event) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Clearway) Order 2025 

1. Temporary ‘closure’ on Kelvedon Hall Lane, Church Road, Beacon Hill and Beacon Hill Road, Kelvedon Hall Lane and Church Road as below. In the Borough of Brentwood. 

Road - Description - Diversion Route
 
Kelvedon Hall Lane - From its junction with A128 Ongar Road, southwest to its junction with Church Road. Access only for residents and pre-approved vehicles will be maintained via Kelvedon Hall Lane junction with A128 Ongar Road. - N/A 

Church Road - From its junction with Kelvedon Hall Lane to its junction with Church Close. Access only for residents and pre-approved vehicles will be maintained via Kelvedon Hall Lane junction with A128 Ongar Road. - N/A 

Beacon Hill, Kelvedon Hatch From its junction with Kelvedon Hall Lane, southeast for approximately 200 metres Howard Lodge Road, Dudbrook Road, Crown Road, Ongar Road and vice versa. 

Beacon Hill Road, Kelvedon Hatch - From its junction with Church Road, Southwest for approximately 145 metres to its junction with Howard Lodge Road. - Howard Lodge Road, Dudbrook Road, Crown Road, Ongar Road and vice versa. 

2. Temporary’ Clearway’ on Kelvedon Hall Lane, Kelvedon Hatch in the Borough of Brentwood. 

Road - Description 

Kelvedon Hall Lane - From its junction with Church Road to its junction with A128 Ongar Road on both sides of the carriageway. 

(Church Road, Kelvedon Hall Lane, Kelvedon Hatch) (Temporary One Way) (Appetite on The Farm) (Special Event) Order 2025 

Road - Description - Direction 

Kelvedon Hall Lane - From its junction with A128 Ongar Road, southwest to its junction with Church Road. Access is only for residents and pre-approved vehicles will be maintained via Kelvedon Hall Lane junction with Ongar Road. - Southwest 

Church Road - From its junction with Kelvedon Hall Lane east to its junction with Church Close Access only for residents and pre-approved vehicles will be maintained via Kelvedon Hall Lane junction with Ongar Road. - Northeast/east 

(A128 Ongar Road, Kelvedon Hatch) (Appetite on the Farm) (Special Event) (Temporary 30MPH Speed Limit) Order 

Road - Description 

A128 Ongar Road, Kelvedon Hatch - Approximately 250 metres south of the entrance of Kelvedon Hall, north for approximately 750 metres 

The above road is currently national speed limit. 

The Essex County Council (Brentwood Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-street parking) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 

will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the said lengths of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force. 

The temporary restrictions are scheduled to commence at 8:00 on 23 August 2025 to 23:59 on 23 August 2025 and 08:00 on 24 August 2025 to 23:59 24 August 2025 and are required for public safety while the Appetite on the Farm event takes place. 

The speed restriction will be from 08:00 23 August through to 23:59 24 August 2025. 

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained across all closure points The Order will come into effect 23 August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the event has been completed, whichever is the earlier. 

(Magpie Lane, Little Warley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Magpie Lane, Little Warley in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 230m south east of its junction with Warley Gap for a distance of approximately 70m in a south easterly then north easterly direction. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WG3WF02D – Openreach). 

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole works are undertaken by Openreach. 

An alternative route is available via Magpie Lane, Home Farm Road, Childerditch Lane, Eagle Way, Clive Road, Warley Gap and vice versa. 

The Order will come into effect on 20th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. 

(School Road, Kelvedon Hatch) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of School Road, Kelvedon Hatch in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 155m south east of the junction with The Coppice for a distance of approximately 160m in a south easterly then north easterly direction. 

The closure is scheduled to commence on 9th September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008OGEAA0696869RCSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach. An alternative route is available via School Road, Blackmore Road, Ongar Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 20th August 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
